High enter tained the Friendship Club of Pythian Sisters members and their husbands at a very delight ful picnic supper on the attractive terrace in the garden of their Ma rry At Presbyterian Church i f I i Miss Muriel E. McFall, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McFall of Roseburg, became the bride of Jack Lesile Wallis of Albany at the First Presbyterian church Thursday evening, June 30th, with Dr. Morris H. Roach performing the impressive double ring cere mony. Baskets of white gladioli, flanked by candelabra holding tall white candles, formed the background. Mrs. Homer Grow, organist, played "Always," and "Because." Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in a white satin gown. Her double finger-tip veil of illusion- was edged in narrow lace and held in place by a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible topped by a spray of white gladioli and stephanotis. Mrs. Robert Gunderson, matron of honor, wore a pale yellow dot ted Swiss gown with white pic ture hat and white gloves. She carried a nosegay of pastel-colored sweetpeas. Little Barbara Cooper, THIMBLE CLUB HAS PICNIC LUNCHEON AT CROUCHER HOME Neighbors of Woodcraft Thim ble club members enjoyed a very delightful one-thirty o'clock pot luck picnic luncheon in the gar den of Mrs. George Croucher Monday. TWELVE AND WON CLUB HAS PICNIC AT HARGIS HOME The twelve and Won club met at the home of Mrs. Fred Hargis Tuesday for the anifcal picnic din ner. The table was arranged in the grape arbor. Birthday cakes were cut in honor of Mrs. Fred Ritzman, Mrs. William Peifer and Mrs. Thclla Webber. Gifts were also presented to the three guests of honor. Assisting at the reception held in the church parlors were Miss Grayce Rasche and Miss Elaine Wallis, sister of the bridegroom, Miss Jerry McNecl and Miss Mari anne Peterson. Following a honeymoon to Cali fornia, the couple will make their home in Roseburg. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were Mrs. Nancy Pud, and Mrs. William Hall of Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wallis (parents of the bride groom), Richard Haselton, Miss Lois Peterson, Gerry Knight and Don Strieker, all of Albany; Mr. and Mrs. William Hutchins and family of Lebanon; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbanks of Eugene, and Mrs. Owen Russell of Port Orford. Games were played and each person present received a prize. The club will not meet again until September 20th at the home of Miss Bernardine Princen, 231 Chadwick street. D. Bol- Marry At Impressive Ceremony f' , Mr. and Mrs. Miss Colleen Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Moore of Roseburg, became the bride of Clyde Murphy, son ot Mr. ana Mrs. J. L. Murphy of Winchester, at an Impressive double ring ceremony at the Methodist church, Saturday, June 11, at an eight o'clock candelight wedding. Rev. W. A. MacArthur performed the ceremony. lhe candles were lighted by Miss Carol Barter and Miss Mary crow, who wore pink and blue gowns with gardenia wristlets. The wedding march was played oy Mrs. avis iNeai, wno also ac companied Wayne Wagner, who sang, "Because," and "Always." The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of white satin with a high Chinese neckline and long tight luting sleeves, she carried a bou quet of orchids circled by stephan otis and pearls. Miss Marceline Moore, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a blue chiffon gown and carriJd a bouquet of gardenias circled by rosebuds and white sweetpeas. Bridesmaids were Miss Janet Buckingham and Miss Evelyn Johnson, who wore matching dresses of lavender and yellow and carried bouquets of gardenias circled with sweetpeas. RETAIL CLERKS ENJOY PICNIC SUPPER AT UMPQUA PARK Retail Clerks Local No. 904 of Roseburg, sponsored a most delightful picnic supper Wednes day evening at Umpqua Park. C. O. Baldwin, retail clerks international representative from Portland, who is here as tem porary representative for No. 904, was in charge. The picnic supper committee included Bill Struckman, Tippy Rohrbough, Nellie Sweitzer and Ralph Phalz graf. Between 50 and 60 were In attendance. A social evening fol lowed the supper. MRS. The bride's mother wore a blue dress with white accessories and a corsage of gardenias. Mrs. Mur phy wore a pink dress and also wore a corsage of gardenias. A reception followed In the church parlors with the bridal couple cutting the beautifully decorated wedding cake. Mrs. De Wight La Bore, Mrs. William Karcher and Miss June Barter served. Miss Charlotte Roark had charge of the guest book. A small reception for relatives and the bridal party followed at the home of the bride's parents, at which time the many lovely wedding gifts were opened. For traveling the bride chose a brown suit with white acces sories. They are now at home to their friends at 707 W. 55th street, Los Angeles, where Mr. Murphy is attending television school. Out-of-town gupsts were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Tripp and fam ily of Hillsboro; Mr. and Mrs, Tim Moriarty and Mrs. James Garver of Eugene; Jess Daven port of Portland and Mrs. Betty Dennison and children of Wichita, Kan. ed by the lovely gifts. MISS JEAN METTAUER HONORED AT CHARMING BRIDAL SHOWER PARTY Miss Janls Jackson, assisted by Miss Rey and Miss Susan Brown, entertained at a charming bridal shower at the former's home June 25th in compliment to Miss Jean Mettauer, who will become the bride of Edward W. Jackson, Sunday, July 17, in Eugene. Miss Mettauer was chosen as the bride of the week on Lawson's pro gram over KRNR Wednesday evening. The decorations were carried out in pink and green with a gay little parasol gracing the gift table. Games were played dur ing the evening and Miss Mettau er received lovely gifts. ' Lovely refreshments were serv ed and a beautifully decorated cake, bearing the names of the bride-elect and Driaegroom-eieci, was cut. MoLANE ENTERTAINS AT CHILDREN'S PARTY Mrs. G. M. McLane was hos tess at a very delightful children's party at her home June 17th to nonor ner two nepnews, Konaia and David Porter, of Tulelake, Calif. Those attending the nartv he- sides the two guests of honor were: Douglas Scott, Herhert Wei ton, Ray, Jerry and George Car ter, Lorene Kcster, Anita Jo Flora, Lila Lee Cooper and Joan Elva and Juanlta Welton. Also at tending and assisting Mrs. Mc Lane were: Mrs. Roy C. Weeks and Mrs. Clyde Kester. Games were played and prizes were awarded to the winners. One of the most interesting was the quiz program with Ronnie Porter acting as master of ceremonies and Joan Welton winning the grand prize. Highlighting the Earty was the fashion show with Ila Cooper winning as the best dressed woman and Douglas Scott as the funniest dressed man. Fortunes were told at the be ginning of the party with David Porter as fortune teller. Anita Jo Flora won the game prize.
