Mabel's mother had wanderlust and abandoned her on a farm near Stock ton, N. J., where Jumbo discovered her. The Saint Bernard's owner brought the young deer to a vet for treatment. But Jumbo got so lonesome for his new girt friend that Mabel was finally brought home again to keep him company. Social Security Card, When Lost, Easy To Replace Social security cards sometimes get lost, but it is literally Impos sible to lose your social security number, according to raui r. Johnson, manager of the Eugene Social Security Administration office. "Anyone who has lost his social security account number card can obtain a duplicate card for the asking," Johnson said. "Applica tion blanks are available at all so cial security offices and most post offices. "If the worker has 'the stub of his original card, showing the ac count number, a duplicate can be issued immediately.. Otherwise, we must check our central files for a record of the original num ber. This takes about 10 days." The Eugene social security of fice is located at the Post Office Building, Eugene, Oregon. K. Williams Camp Fire Girls Are Ready For Five Weeks Encampment AJ Tyee; Counselors Leave Approximately 70 Camp Fire Girls will arrive Sunday at Camp Tvee for the first of Jive week- long sessions. The camp will again be headed by Miss J-ois nizgiD- bons, who will arrive some time today from Portland. Considerable work has been done by Roseburg and Drain serv ice organizations and by parents of the gins to improve camping conditions at the site. For two years she has taught physical educa tion at Roseburg senior high. Mrs. John Galla, registered nurse, has been employed in and around Roseburg for 20 years. She will be at camp the last four weeks. Mrs. Bessie Kelley, a practical nurse in and around Roseburg the last several years, will be camp nurse the lust week. Miss Leslie Clerin, Portland, student at j-ewis ana uiark cm. 'lege, will be water safety in- structor. the has taught water safety and swimming three years at Jantzen Beach, Lewis and Clark and other places. Mrs. Ella Herbison, head cook, has had experience in logging camps ana ior tne last several years has been employed as lunch program cook in Edenbower and Rose schools. Talented in art and recommended by her art instructor, she will have charge of hand craft at the camp. She is an experienced camper and last year served as a counselor at Camp Wapello In Iowa. Donna Bushey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bushey, and a graduate of Roseburg high this year, will lead camp singing and help with hand craft. A junior life saver, she will also assist with swimming. Wilma Pope, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pope of 2035 No. Stephens, will assist with sports and games all five weeks. Ardyth Andrus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Andrus, 729 E. Douglas, and a 1948 graduate of Roseburg High, is an experienced camper. She will be at camp two weeks assisting with camp craft. Mrs. Rita Smith will be at camp two weeks as nature coun selor. She is a Camp Fire guar dian and an experienced camper. Mary Lynn Holm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. riolm of Lookingglass route, will be at camp the whole season as bugler and will assist with sports and games. Gladys Telford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Telford of Lookingglass route, graduated from high school this year. She will r ave charge of nature classes the entire season. Joyce Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Morgan, Melrose r ut , graduated from Roseburg High this year with honors. She was awarded the girls sportsman ship, physical education and Girls' league awards. GP The Washington State Federation of Labor yesterday endorsed in prin ciple the proposed Columbia Val ley Administration. A resolution favoring a CVA provided that federation officers and affiliated councils should analyze all labor provisions of legislation to create a CVA. course. She will return to Rose burg Sunday.
