MEETING 13 ENJOYED
Evergreen Home Economics
Club met at the hall Thursday
for a noon potluck luncheon with
Besse Lounsbury, Mabel Garrick
and Gladys Stafford, hostesses.
An amusing program of guessing
games was enjoyed with prizes
going to Jessie Thomas and Mar
ion Sloman.
. Plans were made for a penny
supper to be held July 15 at the

has issued a most cordial Invi

a benefit fiance' arid pie social at
8 o'clock Friday evening, July 1,
at the new- clubhouse at Wil
bur. Pete Wright's Bar X boys
will furnish the music. Women's
admission will be a pie. All pro
ceeds of the affair will go to
the building fund to complete
the clubhouse. ....

CLUB MEMBERSHIP IS
UPPED AT LAST MEETING
The Winston Community Club
met last week for its fourth ses
sion and the membership now
totals' 175, according to an an
nouncement made by the pub
licity chairman, Mrs. Aeba But
tler. Guest and legal advisor for
the evening was ous Carlson of
Roseburg.
The membership voted to in
corporate and the three directors
elected Included: Bill Tipton, El
mer Hunter and Charles White.
The entertainment committee
Includes Mr. Jackson, Bill Tip
ton, Mrs. McCord, Mrs. Bcane
and Mrs. Roy Thompson.
Discussion was held on the two
dances sponsored by the club, both
of which proved most success
ful and enjoyable. Roy Thomp
osn donated his building for the
June 10 dance. The music was
donaled and Mr. Howard donat
cd his building for the June 24
dance.
Plans were outlined for a box
social to be held at Howard's
Hardware store in Winston the
evening of July 9.
The next regular meeting of
the club was announced for the
evening of July 7 at 7:30 o'clock
at Howard's Hardware store. All
residents of the community are
cordially Invited to join the cluo.
Pie and coffee were served
following the meeting.

25 members present.
Committee reports were made
after which election of Vivian
Folmsbee to the position of gate
keeper and Marlon Harryman as

The lecturer, Jessie Thomas,
presented a fine program. The
men were asked to name their
favorite dessert and tell how they
thought it was made. Rubie Bloom
read a humorous poem entitled
"Down On The Farm." Questions
were asked pertaining to Grange
history, which were greatly en
joyed. The next regular meeting will
be July 8 at 8 o'clock in the eve
ning at the hall. Refreshments
will be in charge of Mr. and Mrs.
John Lander Jr., Mr. and Mrs.
George Thomas and Mr. and Mrs.
