Mrs. Emll Harris of Anchorage, Alaska, mother of Miss Joyce Holgate, spent several days in Sutherlin the past two weeks vis iting with her daughter and her son, Frank. She also attended the wedding of her daughter last Sun day to Don West. Miss Selma Enters, Mrs. Han nah Enters, and her grandson, Bruce Enters of Seattle, Wash., are spending a week visiting in Sutherlin, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Coenenberg. Mrs. Violet Guthrie of Anthony, Kan., mother of Mis. J. E. Cox, is visiting at the Cox home for a few weeks. Truman's Aide Gets Nod To Accept Foreign Medal WASHINGTON, June 24. UP) A House Subcommittee Thursday voted to let Maj. Gen. Harry H. Vaughan, President Truman's mil itary aide, accept a medal from the Peron government of Argen tina. The action, by an armed serv ice subcommittee, was a reversal of a previous decision. U. S. military and government officials are not permitted by law to accept gifts or decorations from foreign governments without the approval of Congress.
