Starmer Melva Eileen Richardson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Richardson, of Roscburg, became the bride of Donald H. Starmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Star mer of this city, Sunday, June fifth, at the Christian Church. Rev. Kenneth Knox preformed the ceremony at two-thirty o'clock in the presence of one hundred and twenty-five relatives and friends. An arch of white lilies and orange blossoms, large baskets of white gladioli and candelabra with white candles formed the background at the altar. Lighting the candles were Miss Raeda Reece, in a pale green formal, and Miss Donna Shaeffer in a pale yellow formal. Both wore wristlets of pink carnations. Mrs. Clarence Trued played the organ music and Mr. Gene Yates sang "Because." The bride, given In marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin trimmed with tiers of net ruffles showing from the open front fashioned skirt. She wore a lace edged finger-tip veil held in place with a coronet of small pearls and carried a bride's bou quet of small white flowers cen tered with an orchid beautifully tied with a shower of white ribbons. Her sister, Mrs. Richard Gad way, was matron of honor, and wore pale green and carried a bouquet of yellow roses surround ed by pastel sweetpeas and tied with white ribbons. Edward Bryant, cousin of the bridegroom, was best man and the ushers wore Walter Paul and Richard Gadway. Mrs. Edward Bryant, cousin of the bride, had charge of the guest book in the foyer of the church. The bride's mother was dress ed in beige with white acces sories and the bridegroom's mother was dressed in black. Both wore corsages of pink carnations. The reception Immediately fol lowing the ceremony was held in the church parlors with the bride and bridegroom cutting a four tiered white and pink wedding cake topped with minature bride and bridegroom. The bride is employed at Montgomery Wards and the bride groom is with the City Police. FRIENDLY CIRCLE CLUB IS ENTERTAINED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON Mrs. James Moore entertained the Friendly Circle Club at a de lightful party at her home Wednesday afternoon. A short business meeting was followed by games with prizes going to Frances Reese and Elsie Mills. . Miss Pauline Smith entertained with a lovely accordion solo. A bassinet, filled with lovely gifts, was presenied to Mrs. Essary from Mrs. Mane Reetz, Mrs. Mary Hanson. JAYCETTES HOLD ENJOYABLE MEETING WEDNESDAY EVENING The Jay-C-Ettes met Wednes day evening at the attractive home of Mrs. James Decker with Mrs. Leo Sevy and Mrs. Jack Fariss Jr. assisting hostesses. Mrs. Charles E. Hart, president, conducted a short business meet ing and plans were made for an old-fashioned hay ride and box social, the date of which will be announced later. Mrs. Clark Tavlor is chairman of the affair. Cards were in play during the social hour and prizes were awarded the winners. TWELVE AND WON CLUB MEETS AT DELIGHTFUL LUNCHEON TUESDAY The Twelve and Won Club met at a delightful noon luncheon at the home of Mrs. N. E. Richard son Tuesday with Mrs. William Peifer acting as hostess. Roses decorated the table and rooms. Mrs. Richardson assisted the hostess in serving. Covers were placed for Mrs. Jean Floch, guest, and Mrs. N. E. Richardson, Mrs. E. Ken neth Jones, Mrs. Fred Hargis, Mrs. W. Fest, Mrs. Fred Ritz man, Mrs. E. Princen, Miss Ber nardine Princen and the hostess, Mrs. Peifer. A lovely birthday cake was cut by Mrs. E. Princen. Tha club presented an attractive gift to her also. She has divided the week between Eugene and Roseburg where she has served as adjudicator of syllabus exam inations for the Oregon Music Teachers' Association. In Roseburg, Miss Williams gave examinations to pupils of Mrs. H. A. Hagen of Cottage Grove. Mrs. S. C. Trued and Miss Strong of Roseburg.
