Dr. Sydney Norton Baruch, inventor of a depth bomb used suc
cessfully ugninst submarines in both World Wars, displays bis
newest creation in his New York laboratory. His "night nurse1
mechanical crib, powered by a one-tenth of a horsepower motor,
sways ttoe cradle like a mother rocking her child in her arms, while
playing a lullaby recording of the mother's own voice. An Air
Force consultant engineer, Baruch says his gadget will sell for
about $85 when it goes into production.

Harold Snetsky, 18 (above), was shot to death at Wellani, Ont., near
Buffalo, N. y by George Szendrei, 28, of Humberstone, Ont., after an
argument in which Snetsky claimed Szendrei was trying to molest his
girl friend, Lydia Luisl (left). Snetsky and a friend, Richard Jo
seph, were gathering wood for a wiener roast when the argument
took place. Joseph was also shot and oadly wounded.
