The first of these broadcasts will be from 8:30 to 9 a. m. that day, when Bill Slater and Gene Kelly, who will divide the major an nouncing chores, will describe the start of the 33-car racs around the two and one-half mile brick-paved oval. The second broadcast will be from 9:30 to 9:45 a. m. and will re port the speeds being made by the pacemakers, and any un toward Incidents that have occurred at approximately the 60-lap distance. The cars must complete 200 laps In the gruel ing grind. Thethird broadcast is set from 10:45 to 11 a. m., and the fourth will be between 12:30 and 1 p. m., when the winning car is expected to cross the finish line. Western Regions Of Boy Scouts Win Top Awards BOSTON', May 25. P The Lorillard Spencer trophy for the Boy Scouts of America is In the hands of Region 12 today. The region comprises Coun cils in Arizona, California, Ne vada, Utah and Hawaiian Is lands. The award was made at the 39th annual meeting of the Boy Scouts National Council. The region won the trophy for an 8.3 membership gain last year highest of 12 regions in me u, s. The Senior Scout trophy for retaining the interest of young men 15 to 17 was sent to Region 11. The Region comprises Alas ka, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and the western half of Montana. The trophy the work of sculp tor Raymond Barger of Stam ford. UP) The House sent back to its Armed Services Committee Tues day a bill to raise military pay more than $100,000,000 a year. Rep. Case (R-SD) successfully moved that the Committee be directed to study the matter further. The vote was 227 to 163. The bill would have Increased military salaries an average of 14 percent.
