Plan Contest
For Saturday
Local archers will meet at the
Roseburir Veterans Hospital
grounds Saturday afternoon

toward Ihe river. The last three
targets will he on the west side
of (he drive, with the course

Oregon Stale archery golf
rules will be followed, permitting
the use of one bow only, except
In case of breakage, and any
number of flight or target ar
rows. Each target will be a four
inch ball placed on a wire stand
several Inches above the ground
and a short distance to the right
of the flag. The ball must be
pierced or knocked off the stand
by the arrow.
The Ihe arrow lights within
arrow distance of Ihe hall, Ihe
next shot Is conceded and the
point Is taken. If obstructions,
such as Ihe flag stake, trees, etc.,
prevent the archer from having
a clear view of the target, he
may step to one side or the other
in order to make Ihe shot. Safety
rules will bo In effect at all
times.
Archery golf Is a very sociable
game and requires the minimum
of equipment In fact can be
played with a bow and one ar

It is hoped that Interest In the
forthcoming meet will justify
revival of the old Umpqua
Archery Club, a group which

The body of Delbert D. Hogan,
a private first class killed in ac
tion at Okinawa July 1, 1945,

Born March 17, 1926, in Oak
land, Hogan received his school
ing at Trent and Triangle Lake.
Before entering the service, he
was employed at Commercial
Iron Works, Portland. He was
inducted into the service August
12, 1944, and went overseas with
Co. G, 32nd Infantry, Seventh
Army.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs.
Anna Moxley, Eugene; two sis
ters, Mrs. Louise Milliard, Eu
gene, and Mrs. Olive Barton,
Springfield, and a b r ot h e r,
Arthur Hogan, also of Spring
field. A brother, Russell, died in
1926.

checks.
Defendants are listed as Don
Torres, N. Glesin and Peter Poe
(whose true name is unknown),
doing business, as The Emporium;
Ray P. Dobson, doing business
as The Kanleen; Jerry Thresmer;
W. R. Hlbbs, doing business as
Hibbs Clothing; H. P. Hopzee and
Richard Roe (whose true name
Is unknown), doing business at
Klamath Billiards, and John and
Jane Doe (whose true names are
not known).
The checks In question were
allegedly Issued to Torres in pay
ment of wages. However, the
checks after being endorsed by
him Uct. I, 1U48, nut in an en
velope addressed to his wife and
placed In a U. a. mail depository,
were allegedly withdrawn by
persons unknown.
The checks assertedly were
then cashed at the several named
places In Klamnlh Kalis.
The plaintiffs ask for a decree
determining the right of the de
fendants to the funds, all of
whom claim an Interest in
amounts respectively listed In the
complaint. The total amount in
queslion has been deposited with
the clerk of the court. The plain
tiffs also ask for their costs in
the action.
