Funds Listed For Northwest's Army Functions WASHINGTON, May 11 () The Senate Appropriations Committee Tuesday approved a $751,440,690 budget for Army civil functions including $87, 605,800 for the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. Oregon Is listed for projects totaling $70,521,500, including $.10,000,000 for the McNary Dam and locks on the Columbia River. Washington is allotted $12,200, 000, Idaho $3,840,300 and Alaska $1,044,000. Included was a record $722,-690,-690 for flood control and navigation projects of the Army Engineers in the year beginning Julv 1. This Is $158,148,420 more than the amount approved by the House. The $751,440,690 com pares with $648,575,666 appropri ated for the current fiscal year and a budget estimate for next year of $772,458,220. The only money change from a Senate Appropriations Sub committee's r e c o m mendations was the deletion of $75,000 for planning Jamestown flood con trol reservoir on the James River in North Dakota. Tlie Committee also approved an amendment, requested by President Truman, holding up construction funds for Isabella and Pine Flat Reservoirs in Cali fornia until cost allocations have been made for irrigation features of the projects'.
