Funeral services for Dr. Dan
iel V. Poling, 83, who died at
Corvallis Saturday, will be held
Thursday In the First Presby
terian Church at Albany instead
of tomorrow, as announced else
where in today's edition. The
funeral was postponed because
of the flood in the Willamette
Valley.

strength as of Chiang's weakness.

Myrtle Creek Passes
Byron John Tanton, well
known resident of Myrtle Creek,
died Sunday following a short ill
ness. He was bnrn at Elkmound,
Wis.. June 4. 1872 He iraa mar.
ried to Miss Verena Padrun Oc-
1 tooer 3, 1902. They made their
home in Riddle for a number of
years before moving to Myrtle
Creek.
He Is survived by his widow,
Verena, and one son, Merlin
Planey Tanton. Funeral services
will be held Tuesday afternoon at
2 p. m. in (he chapel of the Long
& Orr Mortuary. The Rev. E W.
Powell will conduct the services.
Interment will follow in the Civil
Bend Cemtery.
Dr. C. G. Sabin, Portland,
Killed in Auto Crash
HERRIN, 111., Dec. 13 P
Dr. Charles G. Sabin. 74, Port
land surgeon and dog fancier,
died In a hospital here Saturday
night after an automobile acci
dent. Sabin had come here to enter
his animals In the National Eng
lish Springer Spaniel flpld trials.
His dog is the defending cham
pion, and he was re-elected presi
dent of the Field Trial Associa
tion last Thursday.
State police said Sabin was
fatally Iniured and his wife hurt
when their car side-swiped an
other, struck a culvert, and overturned.
