scene of the wedding Saturday
evening, July 2t, of Miss Barbara
Joyce Autry, charming daughter
of "Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Autry Sr,
of Dlllard to James Donald Mc
Alplne, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R.
McAlplne of Dlllard. Rev. W. W.
Applcyard performed the Impres
sive ceremony in the presence of
clone friends and relatives of the
couple.
The vows were solemnized be
fore a beautiful green archway
flanked by baskets of red roses
and white Shasta daisies, pink
and white carnations, and lull
white cathedral tapers in white
candelabra. The candles were
lighted by the Misses Paula and
1'atsv Newman as Mrs. Cump.
ston played the Bridal Chorus
from Lohengrin for the wedding
party to advance to the altar.
The bride, given In marriage by
her father, was beautiful In a
formal gown of white nylon, and
long gloves of white net. Her
lingprtip veil was edged In lace
and held In place with a coronet
of white satin ribbon and flow
ers. She carried a white praypr
hook with w'llte satin streamers.
She wore a single strand of pearls
and her corsage was of "ardenlas.
Mrs. Barbara Zimmerman act
ed as matron of honor, and wore
a black lace formal. Her corsage
was of rose gladioli. The Misses
Paula and Patsy Newman, cous
ins of the bride, were bridesmaids.
Miss Pauhx was gowned in a
white silk formal with corsage of
pink gladioli, and Miss Patsy
wore a pink silk formal with
corsage of white gladioli. Vernan
Zimmerman acted as best man,
and ushers were R. C. Autry Jr,
U. S. N, and Ray G. McAlplne,
brothers of the bride and groom.
The bride's mother wore a navy
blue silk dress trimmed In pink
lace. The groom's mother wore
a grey suit with vhite accessories.
Both wore corsages of pink gladi
oli. A reception was held Immedi
ately following the ceremony.
The attractively decorated three
tiered bride's cake was cut by
the bride and groom, and served
by the hostess. Mrs. Cumpston,
assisted by Mrs. Dovle Autry,
with the Misses Newman serving
the punch. Following a short trip
to the coast, the couple are now
at their new home In Happy Val
ley. The bride attended Whitman
College In Walla Walla. Wash.
The bridegroom attended the Dll
lard School and the Roseburg
High Schools prior to nis enlist
ment In the Army. He served In
the Pacific theater for 28 months.
He Is at present engaged In the
lumber Industry.

Church, at 2 o'clock, Sunday,
July 11.
The Misses Nancy May and
Joyce Wattman lighted the altar
candles. Percy McKesson sang
"Because" and "Always" accom
panied by Mrs. Eggleston who
also played the traditional wed
ding march for the party to ad
vance to the altar.
The bride, given In marriage
by her father, wore a white satin
and lace gown with a finger tip
veil edged In lace. She carried a
bouquet of white rosea and
stephanotis. Miss Dixie Emerson
was bridesmaid and Miss Joan
Jean -Jones, sister of the bride,
was junior attendant. Both wore
dresses of lace and marquisette
in similar style, Miss Emerson
in pink and Miss Jones in blue.
They carried nosegays of carna
tions and daisies In shades match
ing their gowns.
Albert Smith, brother of the
bridegroom, acted as best man
and ushers were Richard and
Rowland Letsom.
A reception was held Immedi
ately following the ceremony.
Mrs. Eldon Lee served assisted
by Mrs. Willard Robbins and
Mrs. Ruth Lewis.

Wednesday afternoon at the home
of the president, Mrs. George E.
Houck. The state convention to
be held In North Bend, Septem
ber 1-2-3, was discussed and dele
gates were appointed. Any mem
ber desiring to attend this con
vention is asked to contact Mrs.
Houck previous to that time. The
state president will be elected to
serve lor the ensuing three years.
Projects for the club year were
discussed. The club will meet
the first Tuesday In October, at
which time Mrs. Harry F. Hat
field will give her report on the
International convention uf Fed
eration of Woman's Clubs held
the last of May In Portland.
