UNIT HOLDS MEETING
The Melrose Home Extension
Unit met at the home ot Mrs. C.
Chitwood at 11 o'clock Friday
morning, at which time the home
demonstration usent, Mrs. W. L.
Boling, presented a demonstra
tion on the use and care of pre
sure saucepans. A delicious lunch
eon was served at .noon.
: Mi. Alta Thompson resigned
as secretary-treasurer and Mrs.
Grace Kenn was elected to com
plete the term.
Mrs. Margaret Aydelott and
Miss Luella Cunningham were
selected to represent the unit at
the project training meeting In
Rnseburg. The subject will be
"Corsages."
The unit reporter and any In
terested members are invited to
attend the publicity news-writing I ters were discussed during the

PENNY SUPPER IS
ENJOYABLE AFFAIR
A most delightful penny supper
was held Friday evening at the
Olalla Grange hall under the
auspices of the Olalla-Tenmile
Extension Unit. After the supper
the Olalla Hoy Scout Troop No.
126, received its charter. Members
of Roseburg Troop, No. 34, assist
ed In the impressive ceremony.
FRIENDLY HOUR CLUB
MEETS AT BONEBRAKE HOME
The Friendly Hour Club met
at the home of Mrs. J. F. Bone
brake. The Washington and Lin
coln birthday motif was carried
out In the decorations for the
rooms and table.
The short business meeting
was followed by an interesting
Bible prophesy and its fulfillment
presented by Mrs. Bonebrake.
Sewing and visiting were enjoyed
during the social hour.
The hostess was assisted In
serving delicious refreshments by

advisor, Mrs. Bessie Fandrich.
Four Kebckahs were also in at
tendance. The club voted to hold drill
team practice every Thursday
muht at 6:30 at the hall.
Plans were made for a rum
mage sale to be held Feb. 28, the
filace of which w ill be announced
ater. Plans were also made to
hold a membership drive with the
losing team members of the con
test entertaining the winning
team members at the concluiiun
of the drive.
