Into Genuine Suicide
OREGON CITY, Ore., June 20.
.P Coroner Ray Rilance said
yesterday that Homer Choate, 56,
committed suicide Wednesday
while his employer, thinking it a
practical joke, looked on.
The coroner quoted Merle
Trachsel as saying Choate told
him he had a "surprise," cut a
stick with which to pull the trig
ger, placed the muzzle of a shot
gun against his chest and fired.
Trachsel was quoted as saying
he thought the elaborate prepara
tions were part of the joke.
