Miss Helen Casey Presents
Comedy on Christmas Program

man Cluo annual inristmas pro
gram, Mis Melon Casey present
ed the delightful one-act comedy,
"Joint Owner In Spain," Tues
day afternoon at the First Pres
byterian Church parlors. She was
very ably assisted by Mist Alice
i elana, Mrs. iianan jones ana
Mrs. Armour Murdock. Members
and guests were enthusiastic over
the performance and the cast
was called back by the appliluse,
after which Mrs. Dallen Jones,
on behalf of the cast, presented a
beautiful corsage to Miss Casey.
Mrs. A. J. Geddes, president,
had charge of the meeting with
Mrs. Murdock acting as program
chairman. Mrs. Charles A. Brand
led the group singing of Christ
mas carols with Mrs. F. G. Burr
at the piano. Mrs. Earl Plummer
pleasingly presented the Christ
mas story and Mrs. Geddes read
a most fitting article entitled,
"America Did Not Korget." At
the close of the program, Mrs.
Harry F. Hatfield, past president
of the club, very graciously pre
sented a Christmas gift on be
half of the membership to the
president, Mrs. Geddes.
Members and guests brought
Christmas gifts, which complete
ly filled a Targe box, which was
shipped this week to the children
of Doernbecher hospital. This Is
an annual project of the club.
Tea was served at the close of
the program. The lace-covered ta
ble was centered with an attrac
Ive arrangement of holly, flank
ed by tall red tuners. Mrs. A. J.
Geddes and Mrs. O. S. Chambers
poured. Hostesses for the oc
casion Included: Mrs. H. N. Ja
cobson. chairman Mrs. O. G. Gos
nell, Mrs. Klla Fenley, Mrs. Stan
ley Click, Mrs. A. J. Geddes, and
Mrs. O. S. Chambers. Others
present were: Mrs. Olga Lundeen,
Mrs. Adaline Olsen, Mrs. A. A.
ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY
IS GALA EVENT FOR LADIES
OF ROSEBURG COUNTRY CLU
The Roseburg Country Club
ladies enjoyed their annual
Christmas party with the ex
charge of gifts Thursday at the
clubhouse. The affair proved to
be one of the largest holiday af
fairs to he enjoyed by the mem
bership in a number of years.
Awards for the nlnchnle sum
mer golf tournament Play were
made with Mrs. Bill Courier as
the winner and Mrs. C. K. Knight
as runner-up. , ,
The table and clubhoase were
elaborately decorated 'for the
occasion by Mrs. Clvde Knight.
Mm. L. G. Twohy, Mrs. Milton
Greenfield, Mrs. James O. Hughes
and Mrs. E. J. Ijiney. The punch
howl was In charge of Mrs. E. J.
Rodgers, Mrs. A. B. Collier and
Mrs. J. M. Judd and the tree and
gifts were In charge of Mrs.
Kenneth Bailey and Mrs. F. W.
Sallng.
A lowly gift was presented to
Mrs. Walter Brydges from the
club.
Plans were made for the New
Year's eve dance for members
and their Invited guests, which
will he an event of December M
at the clubhouse. A snack bar
will be malntain?d during the
dance hours and following the
dance refreshments will be served
and favors will be presented. Bud
Spaulding's orchen'.ra has been
engaged to play for the occasion.
The affair promises to be the
highlight of holiday events.
