Mr. Selfors savs also that he

new fluid milk reuulations that
the department Is now receiving
from those In charge of federal
testing for Bang's disease up-to-
ine -minute reports on location
of reactors. As a result, the divi
sion Is now In a position for the
first time to enforce that portion
of the so-called pasteurization
law relating to raw milk sold In
bottles.
Briefly, this law requires that
In herds where reactors are
found, the herd be tested at In
tervals ol 15 to 21 days for Tour
tests. If reactors are found and
removed after each test, and no
reactors found on th fourth te.,t,
the herd will be disease-free. If,
however, on the fourth test,
Bang's disease reactors are found
again, as far as the sale of raw
milk is concerned, the milk must
be pasteurized If sold in the hot
tie and can trade. It does not
apply to dairies producing raw
milk for pasteurization, as milk
which is pasteurized eliminates
any danger of undulant fever,
which is the human form of
Bang's disease.

Drive to obtain money and
canned food tor the relief of
starving millions abroad began
today throughout the nation.
Lee Marshall, executive direc
tor of the drive, and Fiorello H.
LaGuardia, director-general of
UNJtRA, both have said that cash
gifts would be more welcome and
useful than gifts f canned food
because UNRRA can buy at
wholesale prices.
Canned food, however, will be
accepted and shipped, they said.
The campaign will be organized
in li;,000 cities and towns with
collection depots in stores,
churches, police stations and fire
houses. Food and money obtained
will be turned over to UNRRA.

OSC to Be Limited

Oregon's 1916 4-IT Club sum
mer school, to be held at Oregon
State College June 18 to 28, will
be somewhat larger than a year
ago hut still will be limited to
about 1-100 boys and girls, ac
cording to II. C. Seymour, stale
411 Club leader.
This will compare with about
1100 who attended last year's
school and a peak pre war en
rollment of around 2200. Housing
facilities have improved slightly
this year to permit a small in
crease in numbers.
This year's sessjon will be the
31st for Oregon club members.
Started In 1H14, these schools
have been held every year since
except 1944 when Army students
stationed on the campus occupied
practically all available housing.
The Oregon club school is
unique rfmong all those held In
the United States, being the only
one that extends for as long as
10 days and likewise having the
largest attendance of club boys
and girls of any similar school
in the nation in normal years.
County quotas have been es
tablished again this year on the
basis of the ratio of club mem
bers completing their projects.
Members winning school scholar
ships in state and county comoe
tltion will be given first prefer
ence and scholarship winners in
community contests will be con
sidered next. Sevmour says. Anv
vacancies remaining In county
quotas mav be filled by those
paving ineir own way.
Supplementing the staff of sev
eral score regular O.S.C. faculty
members who will Instruct the
youngsters in classrooms and
laboratories will be a number of
nationally-known specialists, ac

include L. M. Vaughn, chief of
the labor utilization division of
the federal extension service;
Kenneth Ingwalson. western
states field representative for the
extension service: T. A. Erickson,
formerly state 4-H leader in Min
nesota for many years: and sev
eral representatives of national
firms interested in club work.
Increased emphasis will be
given this vear to discuslon
groups for older club members
and to courses in keeping with
new developments along farm
and home interests, such as
frozen foods and labor utilization.

a tidal wave would result from
the Bikini atoll atom bomb test,
and hedged his opinion with this
