preceded the lovely bridal
shower given In honor of Mrs.

ANNUAL THANKSGIVING
BALL THURSDAY NIGHT
With Thanksgiving- dav near,
residents making plans for cele
brating the holidays are urged
to mark the Thanksgiving ball
at the armory on their calendar
for Thursday night. This ball has
been an annual affair in Rose
burg and in the past has been
given by the Business and Pro
fessional Woman's club. This year
the dance will be sponsored by
the Roseburg Recreation commit
tee and ail proceeds will go to the
local recreation program which
Is carried on in the community
for both adults and youngsters.
By attending the dance the public
not only receives an evening of
enjoyment but also helps a
worthy cause.
A 5-piece orchestra has been
engaged for the affair and danc
ing will continue from 9 P. M.
until 1AM. The committee also
announces that it is to be formal.
As only one or two formal af
fairs are scheduled for the com
ing winter this promises to be
one of the largest dances of the
season.

with Master Dayton Minter pre
siding. Roll call found three offi
cers absent. J. A. and Anna Cur
zon were given the obligation and

membership were read and re
ferred to an investigating com
mittee. Officers for the ensuing
year were elected as follows:
