Over 40 years ago, in vaude
ville's hey-day and later in the
Ziegfeld Follies, golden-haired,
tempestuous star Eva Tanguay:
looked as she is pictured above,1
knocking 'em cold with her
rowdy, raucous theme song, "I
Don't Care!" And that's how
she wants to be remembered.
Bedridden with illness, crippled
with arthritis, her beauty gone,
she recently spent her 67th
birthday behind fc the bolted
doors of a tiny house on a shab
by Hollywood street, refusing
visitors, calling weakly "I prefer
to be remembered as I was."
later may take a further advanced
course.
Purpose of the program is to
develop physically strong persons,
trained to keep themselves and
their communities healthy, and
knowing how and why, Weinzirl
said.
