S. of C. S. met at the home of Mrs. C. C. Watson last Thursday with a sumptuous potluck dinner hy the ladles of the Methodist church. After the bountiful dinner a business meeting was held with Mrs. Wm. C. Woods, president, In charge, Mrs. Woods gave the do votionals. During the meeting It was voted to ive $23 for Adult Life membership, this to be pre sented to Mrs. Nellie Parker for the faith ful work which she has performed during the many years she has been associated wllh the Sutherlin Community Methodist church. A silver offering amount ing to S12 was collected for the infantile paralysis tund. The so ciety also voted to pay their pledge of $25 toward Hie Crusade for Christ. A vote of thanks was extended to Mrs. C. C. Watson for opening her homo to this gather ing. The meeting was closed in prayer by the president. The meetings of the society will henceforth be twice a' month, on the second and fourth Thursdays. The fhat meeting will be held Feb. 8 at two o'clock with a reg ular business meeting, and Mrs. Harold Jones and Mrs. Martin will be hostesses. The fourth Thursday will lie the potluck din ner followed by a program and social hour. U. OF 0. MOTHERS CLUB TO MEET MONDAY NIGHT The University of Oregon Mothers club will meet next Mon day evening at a 7:.'M o'clock dessert-supper at the home of Mrs. H. T. Hansen in Laurejwnod. SHOWER PARTY IS LOVELY AFFAIR FRIDAY SUTHERLIN Friday was the date of a lovely "new comer" shower honoring Mrs. Harold Riggs of Green Valley. The event took place at the spacious home of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Francis at Fair Oaks. The rooms were appropriately decorated Willi pink and white streamers cascading from an um brella above the gifts and around the refreshment labia. Guessing games provided amusement until the presentation, when three-year-old Sandra Flory wheeled a prettily covered doll carriage full of gifts to the guest of honor.
