Witherbe, 57, of North Bend, Oregon, died at 508 Fowler St., Roseburg, this morn ing following a few hours of ill ness. She became 111 while visit ing relatives "at Camas Valley and was rushed to Roseburg by ambulance, but death followed within a short time. Born in Cedar county, Missou ri, October 10, 1885, she had been a resident of Oregon for the past 10 years. Surviving are a son and two c'aughlers, Lester Witherbe, now in service with the army; Mrs. I oris Arnold, Portland, and Mrs. Deloris Glass, North Bend. The body is to be taken to North Bend today by the Rose burg Undertaking company for funeral services. Apple-Pear Spray Now For Moth Control Urged CORVALLIS, July 30 ( API The third cover spray on apples and pears to control codling moth is now due in western Oregon, according to observations made by B.'G. Thompson, associate en tomologist of the OSC experi ment station. He said second brood moths are laying eggs which will hatch by August 4. Either calcium arsenate or lead arsenate is the standard con trol used in water at the rate of two to three pounds to 100 gal lons. Public Lands Hearings Dated in Eugene, Salem SALEM, July 30.
