sound films, which were greatly

The evening's door prize was

Miss Abbie Moore. The Valentine
motif was carried out in the deco
rations and lovely refreshment!)
were served by the committee-,
Velma Young and Peace Fox.
Mrs. William Bell and Mrs. M.

The next meeting of the club
will be February 22 at the club
house with Amanda Anderson,
Martha Perry and Emma Mann
in charge of the program on the
topic, "Detealing Inflation."

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mulchings, of
this city, have announced the
marriage of their daughter, Miss
Myrtle, to Howard Casey, of
Portland, which took place in
Portland on January 9.
Following the marriage? cere
mony, the bride and bridegroom
wont to Fort Benning, Ga where
the latter entered the U. S. army
training station. The bride spent
a month there and then came to
Roseburg and spent a week visit
ing her parents, before going to
Portland to resume her work as
a private secretary at the ship
yards. The bride has many friends
here, having boon graduated from
the local high school in 1!I30 and
later was graduated from North
western Bussiness college in
Portland.

book of prayer, remembering two
groups, Africa and the American
Negro, was very ably presented
by Mrs. Homer Grow, after which
Rev. Len B. Fishback, pastor of
ho First Christian church, pre
sented an intensely interesting
talk on his work In Africa, where
ho served as a pastor and he
showed a number of- articles,
which he brought from that coun
try back to the United Slates.
The program closed with a
reading of a poem by Mrs. John
E. Runvan.
