Bridge was in play dur ing the afternoon with Mrs. D. Butcher winning both the gallop ing goose and high prizes. Mrs. Savilla Bamber received the low. Beautiful bouquets of chrysan themums were placed about the rooms and delicious refresh ments were served the following members: Mrs. P. C. Trozelle, Mrs. Brittain Slack, Mrs. Savilla Bamber, Mrs. C. Dec. 1 The Christian Ladies Aid was hostess Thursday afternoon last week 10 a delightful shower party compli menting Mrs. Leola Van Horn. Games were played and visit ing enjoyed after which refresh ments were served to 23 guests. Many lovely gilts were opened and admired, including several from friends who were unable io attend. Butte Man, 71, Slays Woman, 38,' and Himself BUTTE, Mont., Dee. 1 (AP) Bullets fired with an apparent motive killed Helen Kennedy, 38, Butte stenographer, and James Martin, 71, retired miner and friend of the woman's family. Police Chief Bart Riley said Martin shot Miss Kennedy three times on a Butte street last week, then mortally wounded himself. Relatives of the dead woman, Riley said, could offer no reason for the double shooting, and said it "came out of a clear sky." Martin's wife, who died last spring, was a cousin of Miss Ken nedy and Martin was a friend of the woman's family, relatives told the police chief.
