VANCOUVER, MONDAY
Alma Harness, former business
woman of this city and now a
resident of Eugene, was married
Monday, February 9, at Vancouv
er, Washington, to Roger Bow
man. After disposing of her
store in Roseburg, Mrs. Harness
operated a ready-to-wear store in
Springfield, Oregon, later mov
ing to Eugene. Mr. Bowman is
employed by the state highway
department In Eugene. They will
make their home at 1741 Villard
street.

Mccdell club Thursday afternoon
at the hume of Mrs. H. L. Wahl
east of Sutherlin. The pleasant
hours were spent in visiting.

ELKTON, Feb. 10. A sub-dis
trict meeting of the W. S. C. S.
was held in the Methodist church
of Roseburg Tuesday. Mrs.
Georgia Richman, of Coquille,
was the guest speaker. Mr. Rich
man at one time lived near Elk
ton. The ladies of the Roseburg
church served lunch at noon.
The Elkton ladies who attended
were Mrs. Lena Fox, Mrs. Bcda
Carlile, Mrs. Edith Adams, Mrs.

Bergstrom, representing the
American Casualty company, has
returned to his headquarters in
Portland, following a short stay
in this city attending to business
with the local agent, R. E. Par
geter, at the Douglas Abstract
company.
Leaves for Portland Mrs.
Charles Fox (Vivian Orcutt) of
Marshfleld, stopped over here
Sunday night and left Monday
for Portland on business. While
here, she visited her pa'rents, At
torney and Mrs. A. N. Orcutt, on
Chadwick street.. The Fox fam
ily plan to move soon from Marsh
field to Portland.

1:30 o'clock dessert-luncheon at

Mrs. Carl R. Duncan have return
ed to their home in this city, fol
lowing a two weeks' stay in Port
land and at Bremerton, Wash.

and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Bogard, former residents of this
city. Mrs. Bogard was Bernice
Duncan, of Roseburg, before her
