CAMAS VALLEY, Nov. 22
The first snow of the winter fell
during Saturday night and early
Sunday morning. The mountains
on the west were covered with
snow. Some snow fell on Camas
mountain but did not remain. A
few flakes fell even in the valley
later in the morning. The snow
on the mountain west is still
visible, making the weather pret
ty snappy.

visit friends and relatives In Palo
Alto, California.
Dee Coon purchased a donkey
engine and has it rigged up for
his winter logging. Marlon Wiley
of Tanner Creek Is working for
him now.
Chester Gibson visited friends
in the valley Saturday.
Bert Golgcrt has been doing
some repair work on the church
roof this week.
Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Brown had
a very good walnut crop this year.
They have been shelling quite a
lot of their nuts as there seems
to be a very good market for the
nut meats.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Richtcl
have a large guinea bean on dis
play in their store. The bear
seems to be more the nature oi
some variety of summer squash,
Mrs. Richter says, and the vine
looks like a squash vine. It is
also prepared for eating like sum
mer squash or egg plant. The
bean on display was probably
four feet long and three inches
through and was grown on the
Richter ranch by Mrs. Ben Buz
zard. Mrs. Richter says it Is too
mature for table use.
Jessie Pullon, seven-year-old
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Pullcn of Coqulllc, was buried
in tne Martlndalc cemetery, Mon
day afternoon. She died Satur
day at her home in coquuic loi
lowing a short illness. She was
a granddaughter of Jesse Kirken
dall, of Camas Valley. Besides
other relatives she is survived by
iter lather and mother and two
older sisters, June and Virginia,
all of Coqulllc.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Garrett at
tended funeral services of a rela
tive, Mrs. Farmer, In Myrtle
Point Monday. Mrs. Farmer was
Ihc mother of Jim, Orgy, Charlie
and Delmar Farmer who are well
known here, having been associat
ed with logging operations in this
vicinity a lew years ago.
During the past year the mem
bers of the Camas Valley Sunday
school have been reporting all the
chapters of the Bible read each
week, anil the superintendent,
Mrs. G. R. Moore, kept a record
of the reports. The total read for
