Camas mill company, have pur
chased the mill, logging equip
ment and timber from the Stan
wood and lirinn Lumber com
pany. The latter has moved out
and Harmson and Wakefield have
begun work in their new timber
holdings.
Mr. and Mrs. Livingston and
Claude Trucman of Marshfield
spent the last weekend at the
home of Claude's mother, Mrs.
Irvin Crlbbins. Claude is em
ployed In the veneer plant at
Marshfield where Mr. Livingston
is foreman.
Robert Kirkendall of Marsh
field spent a few days last week
with his father, Jesse Kirkendall.
Mrs. Bill McFall arrived last
week lo spend the winter. Bill
has been here for come time
working at Beck's mill. .
Mrs. H. C. Boyle, Mrs. Charles
Crouch, Mrs. A. H. Krogel, Mrs.
C. W. Mayer and Mi s. Lloyd Rob
erts attended the District Garden
club meeting in Marshfield Wed
nesday. They report a very en
joyable day.
Mrs. Robert Martlndale attend
ed to business matters In Coquille
to first of the week.
Mrs. Rose Kinnan, mother of
Mrs. H. C. Boyle, went from
Seattle to Oklahoma City by air
plane last week to spend some
time visiting relatives. They
were forced to lay over for sever
al hours in Kansas due to bad
weather then went on to their
destination.

Plymouth coupe in Roseburg Sat
urday. Neal also spent the week
end at home.

heard recently from their son,
Bill Baker, that he has decided to
take up flying. He had planned
at first to take only mechanic
work. He is stationed at Jeffer
son Barracks near St. Louis.
Ed Brady has been quite 111
with flu and threatened pneu
monia. Dr. Wade was called
from Roseburg to attend him one
evening during the week. He is
somewhat Improved at present.
Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Gurney
of Reston visited Sunday at the
home of Mrs. Gurney's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Baldwin.
Stephen Combs and his son,
James, were called from Blue
River last week duo to the death
of Bud Hutchinson of Marshfield,
son-in-law of Stephen Combs.
They attended the funeral and
visited relatives in Marshfield.
Leslie Siegel was brought home
Saturday afternoon from Mercy
hospital, Roseburg, where he un
derewent an appendectomy sev
eral days before. Leslie is recu
perating very satisfactorily.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Parrot!
and daughter, Pauline, spent the
week end visiting Mrs. Parrott's
sister and family. Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Coy, at Scottsburg and her
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Dick Bangs, at Loon Lake.
On Tuesday they left for Ophir,
Curry county where Harry has
employment in logging opera
tions.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Packard
have had an electric water system
installed at (heir home. The work
was done by Ralph Richter and
Berl Golgerl. i
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Church
have been putting a new single
roof on their house during the
last week.
Dee Coon has laid off logging
and running his saw mill for the
past week while planking a log
ging road to a timber tract a
short distance up the CCC road
on the east side of the valley. The
timber is on the west side of the
road. Dee hopes to be able to
continue work most ot the winter
after he gets the road finished.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelton and fami
ly have moved from a shack
down the canyon to the small
house on the back of the Rlchter
property on the country road.
Eli Stlllwell has gone to San
Francisco for treatment in the
