Mrs. Ralph Herman gave Interesting report of hearing Sftdie Orr Dunbar at the Douglas Health association luncheon and of attending the O. S. C. exten sion department nutrition meet ing. Mrs. Smith announced the American Home department will hold Its first meeting at the home of Mrs. Fletcher Gardner, Thurs day evening, October 30, at 8 o' clock. The Fine Arts department will meet the same time and date at the home of Mrs. J. E. Henbcst. A council meeting was announc ed for Mondav evening, October 2G, to be held at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Henbest. lively refreshments were serv ed from a buffet table, covered by a lace cloth and centered with a flat arrangement of mammoth pastel-colored dahlias and flank ed by tall yellow candles. CATHOLIC BENEFIT ENTERTAINMENT TO BE HELD OCTOBER 28 29 One of the most entertaining events of the season will be spon sored at the Catholic parish hall on North Kane street next Tues day and Wednesday evenings at 8 o'clock, when Miss Helen Casey will present the one-act play, "The Wedding. A cast or IS will take part in the production. Miss Casey will present comic songs on the program and Mrs. Harris Ells worth will present a pantomine number. The dance selection, un der the direction of Mrs. Paul Jenkins, will be given by students of St. Joseph's school. A candy sale will be held early In the evening and following the entertainment, refreshments will be on sale. Tickets for the affair may be purchased from students of the school, those taking part on the program, or by purchasing them at the door on either Tues day or Wednesday evenings. The public has been cordially invited to enjoy the affair. SHOWER PARTY GIVEN MR. AND MRS. HARRIS DAYS CREEK, Oct. 24. Sun day afternoon the S. A. H,arris home was the scene of a delight ful party when Mr. and Mrs. Bob Harris were honored with a very lovely miscellaneous shower. Al though Mr. and Mrs. Harris were married early In the summer this was the first opportunity their friends had had to so compliment them, as immediately following their wedding in Roseburg they went to the Green Butte lookout where Mr. Harris was stationed by the forest service and at the close of the fire season they mov ed to Pinehurst. Mrs. Harris was Miss Ellen Spencer, of Cary, Ida., before her marriage.
