boy and the latest case Is that of
a pre school child.
1 It is unnecessary for any child
to suffer from this disease if
parents will see that the children
are given toxoid Immunization
(followed by the Schick test to de
termine whether the immuniza
tion has been effective. If the
Schick test is positive, a second
toxoid Immunization should be
given. .
Dr. Wainscolt, acting county
health 'officer, has . announced
that he will be In the health of
fice in the courthouse Thursday
aflernoon and parents are Invit
ed to bring their children for im
munization. A small fee Is charg
ed for the service.

ton school Friday morning, bo

es Harvey Thomas, 19, sentenced
to die in the state lethal gas
chamber a week from today, is
the first man ever sentenced in
Oregon to die on any other day
than Friday, prison officials said
today.
Friday also Is the customary
execution day In most other stat
es. Thomas, unles-; Governor

to life Imprisonment, will die for
slaying Douglas Smith, salesman,
near Arlington. Smith, , who
picked up Thomas when the latter
was, hitch-hiking, was en route
from Idaho to his mother's death
