Bill Protects Farmers
In Wheat Crop Failure
WASHINGTON,' Oct. 7-AP
The house passed yesterday and
sent to the senate legislation to
protect wheat farmers who have
a partial crop failure on land
planted to wheat under quoia ana
who have also planted excess
acreage. .
Under the measure a farmer
who produces less ' that! normal
production of wheat on the land
allotted under quota would not
have to pay a penalty of 49 cents
a bushel on wheat produced on
excess acreage except on that
part of the grain which Is In ex
cess of normal production ior xne
allotted acreage.
