What means this eager
anxious throng,
That moves with busy haste

These wondrous gatherings
day by day,
What means the strange com
motion, pray?
In accent hush, the throng
reply.
"Jesus of Nazerath," passcth
by.
Crowds always followed
Jesus. Some were curious to
see Him perform some great
miracle. But there were al
ways faithful friends who list
ened for some memorable
words to preserve for His
people. One day, the crowd
following Him on a dusty high
way, something caught His
attention and He stopped. It's
just a dead sparrow, was the
whisper that passed through
the crowd. But Jesus lifted
that small bird and held it in
His hand as tenderly as a fath
er holds a babe. With rever
ent appreciation He said,
"Not a sparrow falls to the
ground without your heavenly
Father's notice. You arc of
much more value than the
sparrow." Then Ho fashioned
a small grave and burying the
sparrow He said, My Father
Is more anxious about you, His
children. Have you faith to
depend upon Him as do the
birds? Seek first the kingdom
and all things shall be added
unto you. He who places God
first In his life, possesses his
possession. But he who for
gets God, Is possessed by his
possessions. Amen.
