friends is news of the beautiful
wedding of Miss Dorothy Bates
who was married Saturday after
noon in Central Presbyterian
church, . Eugene, to George
Schweiger of Portland, son of
Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Schwicger of
that city.
Peonies, delphiniums and iris
decorated the altar for the service
which was read by the pastor of
the church. Dr. Norman K. Tuily.
Many relatives and friends at
tended. The bride, given In marriage by ,
her father, wore a . floor length
dress of white chenille organza.
The veil of white net was finger
tip length falling from a tiara of
stcphanotis. She carried a white
Bible with baby orchids on top
and a shower pf ribbon and tiny-
flower buds falling from it. She
was attended by her sister, Miss
Marjorie, who wore a pale blue
chenille organza fashioned along
princess lines. Harry Conway, of
Walla Walla, was best man.
Following the church service a
garden reception was held at the
"home of the bride. Miss Beth
Schwicger. sister of the bride-

Following the ceremony, a wed
ding dinner was served at the Ho
tel Umpqua. A bowl of pink roses
and fern graced the table and the
beautifully decorated wedding
cake, topped by a miniature bride
and bridegroom, was cut by the
