has returned to Randolph field,
following a week's furlough. Re
cently commissioned at Kelly
field, following advanced flight
training, he was assigned as an
instructor at the army air corps
at Randolph field.
Leaving For California Mrs.
M. C. Bowker and daughter. Mar
jorie Ann, and her mother, Mrs.
Carl Gilbreath, and Miss Edna
I'pdike, of this city, are leaving i
this week end for Long Beach,
Calif., to spend two weeks vaca
tioning. They will stop over in
King City. Calif., to visit Mrs.
Bowker's husband, Major M.. C.
Bowker, absentee Douglas county
judge. According to Mrs. Bowker,
her husband is to be sent to Fort
Leavenworth, Kansas, June 2S, to
spend six weeks attending an
army school. Mrs. Bowker plans
to maintain her residence in this
