Morals Case Put
In Hands of Jury
The case of the State of Oregon
against Philip Tracy, indicted by
the grand jury on a charge of
contributing to the delinquency
of a minor, was placed In the
hands of the circuit court Jury
shortly before noon today. The
case was heard yesterday and this
morning, with Tracy claiming In
nocence. The state's principal witness
was Tracy's minor daughter, who
charged improper advances. The
defendant claimed that the girl's
story was fabricated because she
was dissatisfied with conditions
at their remote home on . upper
Smith river.
The suit of J. F. Hogan against
L. J. Fullerton, an action for
damages alleged due as the re
sult of an automobile accident,
was scheduled to start this after
noon. It will be the last case to be
heard by the Jury at the present
time, but It is expected the Jury
will be recalled in June to hear
civil actions expected to be ready
for trial at that time.

Rev. J. J, Jacobs, Former
Sutherlin Pastor, Dies
The Rev. J. J. Jacobs, former
Presbyterian pastor at Sutherlin,
who recently has been making
his home at Wilbur, died at his
home this morning. He retired
from the active ministry several
months ago. The body has been
removed to the Roseburg Under
taking company parlors. Funeral
arrangements have not been
made.
