Mike Shaw, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Edward R. Shaw, suffered a
painful injury the first of last
week, when riding down a steep
hill on a bicycle without brakes.
The w heel struck a root and Mike
was I brown off. spraining his
ankle and breaking a bone in his
foot. He Is able to he out on
crutches and get hack to school.

posed ot his stock nf shoe mend
ing machinery and has moved to
his home on Hall and Heard
sin-el. Mr. and Mrs. Yokum have
both been In poor health for sev
eral months.

K. Coulter, a mriner pastor of the
local Christian church. He and
his son and nephew. Morris, are
all engaged in carpenter work in
Portland. The boys were joined
here by Sheridan Coulter, a broth
er of K. E., who also formerly
lived here, lie has been work
ing In logging in the coast area,
and recently suffered a had acci
dent by being entrapped under n
large rolling log. Ho has recov
ered and is able to be at work
again.
