April decided she couldn't stand
the strain and suspense any
longer. She herself had an errand

Personal and corporation In
come tax returns filed before
April 6 totaled $6,483,687, compar
ed with $4,860,693 during the simi
lar period of last year, the state
tax commission said.
Collections to that date totaled
about $4,500,000, the remainder to
be paid before October 1, when
second half payments are due.
Total collections for the year
will amount to a record high of
more than $7,000,000, compared
with the previous record of $6,
021,000 last year.
