The Roseburg Junior degree staff
put nn the degree work while Mrs.
Junnitn Holgate and Mrs. Hilda
Schieman were the Initiates. Mrs.
Maude Vogelpohl nnd Mrs. Mildred
llolman were reinstated.
Several speechs and short talks
were enjoyed. After the closing
everyone was invited to the dining
room where a bounteous banquet
was served amidst the seasonal de
corations in recognition of Hallow
e'en. Sixty-one people were present
witli forty-one from Roseburg. one
from Eugene, one from Oakland
one from Canyonville. one from
Nebraska and fifteen from Slither
lin.

SCHOOLHOUSE FRIDAY
DAYS CREEK, Oct. 21. Friday
evening a very lovely Father-Son,
Mother-Daughter banquet was en
joyed at the school house. The four-
course dinner sponsored by the
student body was prepared by Mrs,
Ray Spencer, and was served by
members of tho student body. The
guests were seated at nicely ap
pointed tallies placed in the audi
torium. Gorgeous bouquets of au
tumn flowers were used as tablo
decorations while crepe paper
streamers used about the room
carried out the school colors of red
and whfte.
Following the dinner a short
program including vocal solos by
Charles MacKenzle nnd Clarence
Miller, community singing led by
Mr. Miller, a very unique spelling
bee and a quiz pitting the men
against the women, was enjoyed.
The affair was attended by about
one hundred patrons of the school.
The proceeds are being npplied to
student body expenditures.
