DAILY DEVOTIONS
OR. CHAS. A. EDWARDS
Words are an index to charac

condition of our souls. Careless
words produce hurt and sorrow.
John Ituskln once wrote: "If
the spirit that Is in you loaves
your tongue the tonguo of a
liar, your heart tho heart of a
cheat, then be assured It Is not
the Holy Spirit. In this busy
modern world each of us could
well afford to mnko our aim the
prayer of the psalmist when he
asked that the words of his
mouth, and the meditations of
bin heart might bo acceptable
in the sight of tho Lord. Tho
lives of those whom we meet in
cur daily Intercourse, In servico
clubs and In tho church, can bo
mado brighter if we earnestly
seek to make our words In ac
cordance with tho mind of (iod.
In "Tho Terrible Meek," Charles
Kami Kennedy has the Roman
captain to say: There is great
power In words. All the things
that over get dono in tho world,
good or bad, are dono by
words." "Roys flying kites, haul
In thoir whlto wiiigod birds. You
can't do that way when you're

woll the words of our mouths,
