DAILY DEVOTIONS
DR. CHAS. A. EDWARDS
It is a certain thing that in
tills hustling, bustling world, we
must find places and time for
(pilet and calm in order to pre
serve our faith and mental bal
ance as well as our physical
health. The modern world cries:
"Come unto me and I will give
you more, excitement. Jesus
said: "Cnme unto me and I will
give you rest." God will nut
break Into a man's life unwel
comeii. He will knock nt the
floor of our heart, He will stuud
pallehtly outside, but He will
wait for us to lift the latch and
open the door, and bid Him en
ter. He forces Himself on no
one. Did you ever try to spend
an hour In the quiet ami peace
of God's house Thereby renew
ing your spiritual strength. Try
it, not for a lull hour at first,
but lot a shorter time. Soon
you will realize your spiritual
powers grow s Imager ami more
sensitive, and you will find pow
er and peace in such a practice.
Quiet our restless hearts In Thy
presence. Our Lord, that we may
hear Thy voice, and give an
svter'unto every cull of Thine,
for Jesus Christ Our Lonj.
Amen.
