by the Jenkins Dance studio has
been announced for Friday eve
ning, June 3, to be held at the
high school auditorium. The re
cital will be the fifth annual pre
sentation of students by Mrs.
Jenkins, who will be assisted this
year by Vernon Russell, of Vallejo,
Calif., who has charge of tho tap
department at the studio.
Rehearsals are now In progress
for the June program, which will
be one of the most versatile and
delightful exhibitions ot student
dancing ever seen In this city.
Fifty students, including a class
from Sutherlin, which has been
conducted by Mr. Russell, will
assist In the presentation of the
entertainment.
Not only those who enjoy danc
ing will find this entertainment to
also be very enjoyable to music
lovers as J. D. (Snap) Gillmore,
and a number of Roseburg's out
standing and prominent musicians
will furnish the music in an or
chestra of seven pieces for tho
evening's program. Mr. Gillmore
is prominently known as a vory
line musician and orchestra anil
band leader.
The recital will be presented In
three episodes, the llrst or which
will be tap numbers entitled,
"Time OK in the Kitchen"; the
second will be "Dance of Moods,"
presented by the ballet studnts,
and the third, "Street Scenos, u
modern ballet arranged by Mrs.
Jenkins and Mr, Htissell, which
combines ballet and tup in a most
dellghtrul manner.
Included In the second and
third episodes will be two beauti
ful exhibition numbers by Mrs.
Jenkins and Mr. Russell, which
will include the Musurka from tho
opera of Coppelia, and Valso from
the street scenes in "De 'bon
nalre." Mrs. Vera McCllntock

The costumes for this year's re
