North Umpqua District: The
Norlb Umpqua road to .Steamboat
is lu fair condition. Mucb of the
road between Williams creek and
Steamboat has boon widened dur

Klver road is hi poor condition, at
though passable. Maintenance
work is being done.
Bohemia, District: Heads have
not yet been maintained, uud travel
is confined to main highways. A
slide has blocked . the Hrlce creek
road 4 mile, below Lund park.
There is no snow in tlie vicinity
of Luyug creek ranger station;
and Kiijada camp, although still
-quite dump is upon to the public.

FROM SCOTT RITES
Mr. aud Mrs. William - Black
have returned to tbeir - home in
Itoseburg after spending a weuk
at Victoria. 11. C, where they were
called by the death of William
Scott, former Roseburg resident.
Mr. Slack was associated with Mr.
Scott for a number of yaara In the
plumbing business, .Mr, Scott hav
ing been engaged in that trade in
Itoseburg for more llia.i 14 yeuis.
He left this city in 1933 aud re
turned to Victoria, his birthplace,
where bis death occurred April
18.
The funeral service was held
April 21, with full Masonic hon
ors, Mr. and- Mrs. Black repori,
and burial followed hi the family
plot lu Koss Bay cemetery at Victoria.
