SOCIETY HAS MEETING
THURSDAY AFTERNOON
The Baptist Missionary society
met Thursday afternoon in the
church parlors with Mrs. George
Caskey in charge of the business
session.
Mrs. L. M. Pentney, program
leader on the topic, "The Work In
Latin America," presented a very
interesting program assisted by
Mrs. C. H. Wickham and Mrs. E.
E. Bauck.
Plans were made for a Christmas
party to be held December 17 at
which time the Trl-Square club
will be invited as guests. Officers
of the Missionary society will act
as hostesses.
Dainty refreshments were served
at the tea hour by Mrs. u. w. Har
ris and Mrs. Charles Mohr, hos
tesses.

ples' League of the Lutheran
church met Tuesday evening at the

the Book of Revelation conducted
by Rev. Mr. Sylwester. The meet
ing closed with the Lord's prayer.

enjoyable seven o'clock dinner at
the Grand hotol Wednesday eve

tournament which Is being spon
sored by the Gray Ladies, was
held Monday afternoon with the
usual interest running high. The
standing of the Players Is as fol
lows: Wm. Lukenbill held hieh
score in the first play off, Robert
Brfstow in the second and C. a.
Carman In the third play off. The
Gray Ladles attending were Mrs.
Greta Borrie. Mrs. Pesgy Young,
Mrs. Anita MeBee, Mrs. Nancy
Tandy and Mrs. Annette Harding,
chairman of the bridge tourna
ment. They were assisted by Mrs.
Hall. Mrs. Healy ana Mrs. Lock
wood. The American Leelon auxiliary
held their Kcml-monthly card party
Wednesday afternoon in the re
crentional bniidln". under the sn
nervision of Mrs. Roy Young, local
hospital chairman. Smokes were
enjoved during the afternoon and
