for the election-day meeting, which
proved to be one of the most en
joyable occasions of the month.

November 7, when Judge and Mrs.
George K, Quine celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary at
their home at 413 Pltzer street.
Several hundred frtnnda and rela
tives called at the Quine residence
between the hours of one and five
lo congratulate the couple.
The rooms of the home were
especially beautiful with huge bas
kets or gold-colored chrysanthe
mums. The tea table, placed against
a background of gold ,chryHunthe-
muma and a beautiful camllelabra
holding lighted gold tupers, was
covered by a gorgeous lace colth, a
gift to. Judge and Mrs. Quine from
the Methodist Kpiscopal Ladled'
Aid and members of the church.
The guests were received- by
Judge und Mrs. Quine und theli
two daughters, Mrs. Hoy Catching
and Mrs. it. D. Coen, and their

Judge and Mrs. Quine.

four sisters of Mrs. Quine, and

golden gifts were presented to
Judge and Mrs. Quine from rela
tives and friends, as well as numi
era us organizations.
Following the reception Judge
and Mrs. Quine and members of
the family enjoyed a buffet supper
at the home of their son-in-law and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Catch
ing, followed by an informal even
ing "at home" at the Quine resi
dence. Those attending the wedding

Judge George K. Quine was born
May 13, 1S62. at Quine a creek (be
tween Riddle and (ilendale), the
son of William II. Quine and Eliza
neth Mynatt Quine. He is now
seventy-tour years of age. tills
father first came west lu 1S46 to
fight In the Mexican war and then
returned to Kentucky to marry

as a bride to Oregon In 182. They
settled between Riddle and Glen-
dale und Quine creek was named
tor Judge Quine'a father. Judge
Quine s mother was born in Tennessee.
Mrs. George K. Quine, who was
Delia Riddle, was born to George
V. Riddle (former commander of
the Oregon soldiers' home) and
Anna Rice Riddle ut Glenbrook
rami, near Riddle, February 6,
IStib, and is now seventy years of
Lige. Her father was born In
Springfield, 111., and came west in
1S52. Her mother was born in Put
nan, ill., and crossed the plains
in 1S53.
Judge and Mm. Quine were mar
ked at Glenbrook farm, November
7, 1X86. To this union six childi-en
were born, including: Harold and
Kallih, who have Imssed away,
and .Mrs. Roy Catching, Mrs. R. U.
Coen, Kenneth and H. 11. Quine,
all residents of Itosehurg. They
have five granddaughters, Helen
Marie Catching, Mrs. Charles Os-
trander, Joyce and Patricia Quine
und Hetty Quine, and three grand
sons, Jerry and Michael Quine
and George Quine.
Judge Quine lias been promi
nently associated in Douglas coun-
y political offices lor many years.
He served as Hondas county sher
iff from 1910 to 1920 and was ap
pointed county Judge to serve the
unexpired term of Judge Stewart.
He was later elected to the ofrice.
Two years ago Judge Quine was
again elected county judge and has
four years of bis term yet to serve.

session at the I. O. O. F. hall, to
honor Judge and Mrs. Quine.

Mrs. Clair K. Allen and Mrs. K.
O. Randolph; reading by Mrs. W
W. Ashcraft, and a talk by Rev,
Perry Smith.
