GLENDALE
Fulfilling a pact made 20 years ago by six Follies
girls, Kntherine LnmbeYt', only surviving member
of the group, is pictured as she dines nlone En a
New YorK cafe. When the six beauties started
out on the road to stnpe fame, they agreed to meet
in 20 years to discuss their adventures and success.
Of the five others, Olive Thomas ended her life
by taking poison in Paris; Lilyan Tashman, who
achieved screen success, died; Martha Mansfield,
also a film star, was burned to death; Fifi Alson
died destitute although she had once married a
millionaire, and Bessie Poole died following a dis
turbance in a night club. Thus fate ended their
20-year pact.

Married . . . to the best little
cook in town . , .
Wise young bnde! She did not tell her
husband that she had never cooked be
fore and he never guessed her inexperi
once. The reason is simple: modern elec
tric ranges abolish guess work. Anyone
can coolt roasts to rare, medium or well
done, like the great hotel chefs. Natural
juices stay in the meat; vegetables retain
their natural salts and minerals; bread and
cakes bake to a golden color. And you
get the same results every time.

The kitchen with an electric stove in
it is degrees cooler than with any
other fuel. And the automatic de
vices abolish pot-and-oven-watching,
so ypu're out of the kitchen much
more of the time. Think of that!
