NEGRO ASKS SHARE I

William Allen, the negro who
four years ago today discovered
the body of Charles A. Lindbergh.
Jr.. ia actively seeking at least a
portion of the 125,000 reward of
fered by New Jersey.

Hauptinann was arrested after
he gave a ransom bill to Lyle who
noted Hauptmann's license num
ber. The bank teller identified the
bill as ransom money.

Here Is the new tax schedule sub
mitted by the treasury to the sen
ate finance committee:
(b) Rate of tax In general
there shall be levied, collected, and
paid for each taxable year upon
the adjusted net Income of every
corporation a tax equal to the sum
of the following:
"Two-sevenths of the amount of
the undistributed net Income which
does not exceed 14 per centum of
the adjusted net Income; j
"One-third of the amount by
which thje undistributed net in
come exceeds 14 per centum and
does not exceed 29 per centum of
the adjusted net Income:
"Three-eighths of the amount by
which the undistributed net In
come exceeds 29 per centum and
does not exceed 45 per centum of
the adjusted net Income; and
"One-half of the amount by which
the Undistributed net Income ex
ceeds 45 per centum of the adjust
ed net income."
The treasury also suggested la
formally a $1,000 exemption for cor
porations with Income up to $20,

Under the new tax schedule a
corporation with net income of
$100,000 would pay $4,000 taxes if
it retained $14,000 from distribu
tion.
If It retained another $15,000 it
vould pay $5,000 more.
For the next $16,000, the tax
would be $6,000, and for any be
yond that, the tax would amount
to one half of the amount retained.
- These rates would not apply to
. small corporation with Income
of $20,000 or less until after it had
retuined $1,000.
81 MORE DRIVERS
LOSE THEIR PERMITS
SALEM, May 12. (AP) Eighty-one
automobile drivers had
their oerators' licenses either re
voked or suspended during April,
the secretary of state reported to
day. The action was tuken as the
result of automobile uccidents.
Forty-seven revocations were re
ported for drivers charged with op
erating a vehicle while Intoxicat
ed. Most of the suspensions were
fur reckless driving.

persons employed in cooperative
associations for the growing, har
vesting and packing agricultural
products, including frulta and nuts,
are exempt under the unemployment
insurance provisions as "agricul
tural labor,' Attorney General I.
II. Van Winkle ruled today.
The definition of agricultural la
bor was requested by the state un
employment commission, because i
farm labor was not included in pro-1
visions of the act.
The opinion held further that i

growers but are turned over to an
