sions. It was directed for two years
by John Stark Evans, professor ot

Illness forced Mr. Evans retire
ment last fall, und the director
ship was taken over by Ralph
Church, who hail served as assist

slcs. President George Peary was ex

to the handling of athletics today.

be maintained separately or placed
'under the department of physical
education failed to reach an agree

Locey, who was graduated from
Oregon State and the University
of California departments of busi
ness administration, will teach
part-time In the business admini
stration school here and spend the
remainder of his time in the dean
of men's office as the new direc
