Mrs. C. H. Beard
Presents Piano Pupils
in Recital at Glide
One of the most pleasing of the
spring piano recitals took place
Thursday evening, when Mrs. C.
II. Heard, local piano teacher, pre
sented those of her pupils who live
at Glide, in recital before the Glide
P.-T. A. The hour of piano solos,
duets and trios was enjoyed by a
large and appreciative audience.
Much thorough and painstaking
work on the part of the pupils and
the teacher was evidenced by the
pleasing tone quality and interpre
tation of the selections rendered.
Kach pupil prefaced his playing by
giving a word picture of the com
position, which added much to Its
appreciation. Ferns and spring
flowers made an attractive plat
form setting for the recital.
Those taking part were Mies
Dorothy Asani, Miss Margery Price,
Miss Elta Casebeer, Miss Alvina
Asam, Miss Helen Connine and
Miss Margaret Clutter. Following
the recital numbers, Mrs. Beard,
hy request, played a group of com
position by the composers Rach
maninoff and Grainger.
Mr. and Mrs. Beard were among
those from Uoseburg who enjoy
ed the Chicago Civic Opera com
pany performances in Portland last
week-end.
