night, February 17, with a splendid
attendance. After the usual open

The membership drive which
was in charge of Mrs. Carl E. Wim
berly is now closed and the total
number of paid members which
were secured for the current year
is 296. The beautiful silver cup
which was offered by the unit as
a prize for the member securing
the greatest number of paid mem
berships was awarded to Mrs. C
K. Allen. Second place was won
by Mrs. George Caskey. In ap
preciation of Mrs. Wlmberly's ef
forts as chairman of the member
ship drive. Mrs. Clinton Gorthy,

A patriotic program will be held
at the Junior high school under the

The Glide Baptist Ladies Aid
members were entertained at the
Blakely home on Friday afternoon
with a Valentine party, at which

The looms were gaily arranged
with festoons of red hearts and
bouquets of ferns. Mrs. Claud Tal

Home
On Friday evening, February 27,
at eight o'clock the Soldiers' home
is to be the scene of a card party
io which all veterans at the home
and all members of the American
Legion and the auxiliary are in

promised to all who attend. At
