yesterday afternoon on his way
north to Salem and Portland. Ho
was flyinK the Standard OH com
pany's Siearman plane which he
has been operating for several
month. Loolf resided In Roaehurg
for several years and drove truck
lor the oil company. He was train
ed as an aerial pilot during the
World war, and when t'.e company
organized an aviation eervicu, lie
was sele't'! pa one of its pilots
and has been doing a great deal
of flying. lie recently flew ths pilnr
plane lor the Trench trans-Atlantic
fliers on their trip from Port
land to San Francisco.
