having formerly taught here for
several years. Since leaving Rose
bur? she has traveled extensively,
having spent last summer sight
seeing In the Orient, where she
toured China, Japan and the Phil
llplnc Islands. The summer before
Miss Wallace made a trip to Eur
ope and Asia, spending some time
in England and also on the con
tinent. Miss Wallace has also
spent a summer In Alaska.
This Bummer Miss Wallace has
been visiting with her father in
Rock Kaplds, lovva. She stopped
in Koseburg for a few days as the
guest of Mrs. Allen on her way
home from Iowa to Honolulu,
where she teaches.

The couple stood beneath a fra
grant bower of blossoms for the
exchange of vows.
The bride, who was given in mar
rtaae by her father, was winsome
in the traditional wedding gown of
white satin, with a wreath of or
ange blossoms holding in place her
lace e.ip and long tulle veil. She
carried a shower bouquet of roses.

girls of high school age of the
Christian church assembled for a
picnic with Miss Virginia Lee as
hostess.

Club Entertains
With Annual Picnic
The Home Economics club of the
Melrose Grange entertained at the
Busenbark grove On 1 hursday eve
ning with their annual picnic,
furnishing entertainment for about
eightv grangers and their friends.
Early in the evening a , basket
supper was furnished, followed by
several hours ot playing tennis and
croquet.
Announcements were made con
cerning an ice cream social to be
given by the grange at their hall
on Saturday, August 23.

Meets Thursday
The Women's Missionary society
of the Methodist Episcopal church,
South, met on Thursday afternoon
at the church parlors for their
regular monthly business meeting.
An interesting feature of the ait
ernoon was the displaying of a
Christmas box packed by the chil
dren of the junior missionary so
ciety of the church for the Philip- 4
pine islands. The children . had
packed toys, scrap hooks and pic
ture books in a little tin truck
ready for shipment. Mrs. Fred
Soulhwick, who was in charge of
the junior missionary work, dis
played the box.

united with the Women of Moose
heart Legion of the World lodges

171 in holding the first annual pic
nic of those lodges at Idylwood
park, located between Heuton and
Lane counties, the most central
point possible for such a picnic.
The picnic is set for next Sunday,
