the trend in automotive construc
tion was toward weight. Today
lightness is the watchword. The
automobile manufacturer has bene
fited from the experience of the
airplane builder. The result is
that newer and lighter materials
are being utilized. Aluminum, ly
nlte, duralumin, and other light
weight alloys have been introduced
o motor car construction via the
airplane.
