with Mr. Frew's parents, his moth

and during the past year has been
teaching In the Sedro-Woolley high
school.

Itoseburg senior high school In the
class of '24 and graduated from,

ties are still coming in but funds

year's sale Is one of the best ever
held In this community. In spite of
inclement weather, the sale in
Itoseburg was highly successful.

the Christian church gathered on

for the regular monthly church

A Special table Is reserved each
month at the church night suppers
for the church .members whose
birthdays have come within the
montn. l-ifteen or twenty enjoyed
the birthday cakes and oilier sue-
clal privileges of those celebrating
on unlays.
Following the supper a program,
also arranged by tlie men, was
given, which included readings,
pipe organ selections, vocal quar
tette and several other entertain
ing numbers.

Held Wednesday Afternoon
in Woman's Club House
The W. C. T. V. mot in the Wo
man's club rooms on V ednesilay
afternoon, with Airs. E. Wills,
president in the chair.
Airs. E. E. Woodcock conducted
the devotional service, giving an
impressive talk on "Love and
Faith." After reports of ' several
committees, a letter was read from
the National W. C. T. TJ. regarding
the recent charges that drinking
Is prevalent in colleges, which
stated that 216 college presidents
reported that student sobriety was
the rule and that college conditions
are thoroughly safe, and that the
few colleges which admitted
there was student drinking placed
the blame on the parents.
Airs. Edith Ackert. county direc
tor of medal contests, presented
four contestants for the silver
medal. The contestant-; were
Thelma Hall, winner, Ella Mae
Alorrls, Leland Russell and Vera
Lovelace. A bouquet of roses was
presented to each contestant. A
gold medal contest will be held In
the near future.
