Meeting Friday Night .
The regular meeting of the Days
creek Parent-Teacher association
was held on Friday evening with
a large crowd in attendance. The
main business was the hearing of
reports from the project and -finance
committees.
The project committee asked
that the P.-T. A. buy dishes tor
the kitchen and the iluance com
mittee proposed the holding ot a
box social to raMe funds. The
associut Ion accepted hot h reports
and set January 31 as the date lor
the box social. A flue program
will be given In connect ion and
hot coffee will be served free with
the supper. Uoxes will be sold ut
auction and It is hoped a good
crowd will be present.

Important Hospital Measure
Passed
According to the current Issue
of The Oregon Legionnaire, the
Rogers Hospital bill authorizing
the expenditure of 115.950,000 for
hospital construction, has passed
both houses and was sent to the
president for approval on Decem
ber 19th. Through the concerted
efrorts of the legionnaires through
out the nation, this important
measure was put through in re
cord time und met with almost no
opposition. Each year since the
war the need for adequate hospit
al facilities has become more
acute and the legion aud auxili
ary feel that the passage of this
important measure Is Indisputable
evidence that America as never
before realizes her obligation to
the disabled.
Date Set for Fashion Show
The semi-annual fashion show
sponsored by the auxiliary will be
held at the Antlers theatre on
March seventh. Airs. Jay Fulcher,
chairman, Airs. Thomas Watson.
Airs. Nathan Fullerton, Mrs. Geo.
Caskey aud Mrs. Joe Denn are in
charge of the show. Almost all of
the business houses have been in
terviewed and the committee
states that the merchants are very

Mr. Harry Simmons ut a seven
o'clock banquet at the Umpqua
hotel on Wednesday evening. The
banquet was the outcomo of a
thirty-day used car sale contest,
the winners of which were to
sponsor the dinner. Air. Enander
and Mr. Simmons took first place
and second place respectively and
a jar containing $45 was divided
between them. The day also mark
ed the birthday of Airs. Enander.
